Apostle Wayne A. Green

Founder and Senior Pastor of The Armor of Light Christian Worship Center

Apostle Wayne A. Green has been in ministry for over 35 years. He is the son of the late Apostle Ralph E. Green and Dr. Shirley M. Green, founders of the Free Gospel Deliverance Temple, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The eldest of three children, Bishop Green is married to Prophetess Michelle R. Green and is blessed with seven children.

Bishop Wayne, a native of Washington, DC was born on September 20, 1956. He graduated from Suitland High School in Suitland, Maryland in 1975. Bishop Wayne furthered his education at Prince George’s Community College, the Washington Bible College and Logos Christian College and Graduate School. Wayne earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Master of Divinity, Master’s Degree in Christian Education with a Minor in Historical Studies and a Doctorate Degree in Divinity (honorary). Bishop Wayne desires to pursue a Doctorate degree from Howard University

School of Divinity in history. Bishop Wayne, a PK (pastor’s kid) has been brought up in church most of his life. He strayed away from the Lord for a while as a teenager, but through God’s grace and mercy he had the chance to rededicate his life back to the Lord.

Under the leadership of Apostle Ralph E. Green, Wayne has been well trained and mentored for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-14). He served faithfully for many years in various capacities in ministry from cleaning the church and church parking lot to being elevated to a Deacon, Minister and Elder. He Assisted Apostle Ralph E. Green in establishing the New Members Ministry, The Free Gospel Christian Academy, a school for children starting from K4 through the sixth grade, Free Gospel Deliverance Temple Bible, Books and Health Food Store, O.B.I.C.A. (The Open Bible Institute for Christian Apologetics), an accredited college through the Logos Christian College and Graduate School, where the people of God can come to study God’s Word and be trained for Ministry.

In August 2005, Wayne was ordained a Bishop. Many people have been saved, healed and delivered through the teaching and preaching of Bishop Wayne A. Green. Many say that Wayne sounds like his father when he preaches, flowing in a deliverance anointing. Bishop Wayne also serves as the General Secretary for the A.W.C.F. (Apostolic World Christian Fellowship), a world-wide alliance consisting of those who adhere to the Apostle’s doctrine in word and practice.

Since 2001, Wayne has had a deep desire to pastor God’s people, build and plant churches, and ministry training schools. Finally, after 10 years of struggling with wanting to follow this dream, he established the Armor of Light Christian Worship Center on March 5, 2011. Bishop Wayne, through the process of time, has come to understand how important it is for the children of God to operate in their full potential. He sees how unbelief and fear can hinder the blessings of God; for example, the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because of their unbelief. The child of God who moves in faith will not have to wait 40 years to realize their destiny. Bishop Wayne believes that all of God’s children need to have a “whatever it takes” attitude to get in position with God’s plan for their lives. Wayne’s desire is to be balanced and disciplined in the gifts that God has placed upon his life for the body of Christ. His prayer always has been to be an example in perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry.

During times of leisure, Wayne enjoys listening to music and playing the bass guitar, fishing and boating, reading and studying the Word of God, or just relaxing at home with his wife and family.

Bishop Wayne’s favorite scriptures: Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) and Psalm 91.
